Looking for a concise Kajabi review? If you’re stepping into the world of course creation yet having a hard time choosing the right platform to set your plans into motion, you’ve come to the right place!
I’ve been delving my hands into creating and selling courses based on the content I’ve had experience with, and I’ve even made money from doing so. Although it can be difficult, the end result is well worth it. While this includes laying out the materials worth putting out to the public and other stuff like sales, the software/program used plays an equally important role.
Since I began, I’ve used a handful of platforms to promote my courses, but none of them hold up better than Kajabi. And today, I’ll be talking about what it is, how it works, everything in between, and, lastly, my honest opinion after using it for longer. Let’s begin!
For those of you who prefer a more visual experience, here is a video review from Legit Marketing Reviews’ YouTube channel. Do check out our article below, however, because it has a comprehensive overview of Kajabi.
What is Kajabi? The New Kajabi
Kajabi, an online course-building platform, is well-known for being a one-stop shop and the place to go for all your course business needs. If building and selling content for profit is your goal or forte, its outstanding variety of features and tools make it easy to get to whatever you want.
Kajabi allows you to create courses that are based on your skills and profession. However, it is an all-in-one platform, so there’s more to it than what it can offer. With Kajabi’s state-of the-art automation, you can create a membership subscription, host a coaching program, or even run a podcast. You can also send newsletter e-mails directly to your customers.
Kajabi is easy to use. It’s remarkable that a platform with so many features and knowledge is still easy to use. I’ve gone to Kajabi plenty of times now, and I can say that I appreciate that I didn’t have to learn any advanced technical jargon just to use its features. No need to do some extra coding, as Kajabi handles the rest for you, saving you time and effort in the long run.
Some course builders don’t have this feature, but Kajabi offers users the ability to create websites to host their content. As there is a lot of potential in selling courses, it also offers a slew of marketing and sales tools to promote them to a wider audience. These include checkouts and payments as well as detailed analytics and integrations. This is especially useful if your content is sold as products.
It doesn’t stop there. Kajabi offers a wealth of support and resources that can be accessed whenever a problem arises. You can learn valuable information, improve your earning potential, and access a large database of videos and help articles.
From the looks of it, it’s no wonder why Kajabi has been a top pick among many content entrepreneurs. You might not believe it yet. This Trustpilot rating may convince you. Take a look at the reviews to see how many people are enjoying it. The New Kajabi
Kajabi was founded more than a decade back and has since helped to build over 100k businesses. It has also managed the creation of 300k+ products, from newsletters to courses, and earned $4 billion in sales. While we can appreciate how well-loved this platform is when it comes to course-building, we can’t ignore some of its lapses, such as its pricey plans and lack of other crucial features such as certifications and other advanced tools.
Kajabi in a Nutshell – How it Works
Ever since I came across this platform, I’ve never been so glad to have Kajabi as my go-to place for promoting the skills I know and selling them to those who are thirsty for knowledge. And to know more about how much I like it, it’s better this way if we dive deeper into how it works.
Kajabi allows you to do many things.
- You can either build your courses from the templates provided or create them from scratch.
- You can create any type of website you like to display your content. It could be your homepage/store, your course content landing page, or a space for customers to visit. The New Kajabi
- You can sell any product, whether it’s free, a bonus, or a subscription.
- Make use of its range of marketing, reporting, and sales functions to acquire a wider reach from sales funnel blueprints to affiliates.
Kajabi is commonly used in two ways: to build products that will be marketed and sold in a uniquely personalized platform, and to simply create a website to host other types of content and solutions beyond courses.
Kajabi is the reason I personally use it. It allows me to create, host and sell content I feel confident in putting out. But, either way, its impressive capacities have created this service a leading platform for sharing new things with people from all walks of life.
Kajabi’s Pricing Plan
Kajabi currently offers three pricing options:
- The Basic Plan costs just $119/month and is billed annually starting here.
- The Growth Plan, priced starting at $159/month, and
- The Pro Plan, which costs $319/month.
The Basic plan allows you to create three products and three sales funnels. You can also create unlimited landing pages, marketing e-mails and gain up to 1000 customers.
The Growth tier lets you explore mostly the same features as the previous one, plus upgrades such as 10,000 customers, ten admin users for one website, advanced automations, the Kajabi affiliate program, and the ability to remove all Kajabi branding from your site and courses.
Kajabi Pro continues to expand the features of the site with access the code editor. There are also level-up upgrades such as an allowance for 100 products or 100 funnels, 20,000 customers and three websites.
Unfortunately, it does not currently offer a free plan. But, despite this, Kajabi does offer a free 14-day trial for each of its available plans. If you are interested in giving it a try, this is the time to do so.
Kajabi is often criticized for its high price range. Some platforms offer premium plans at half or even a quarter of the cost of Kajabi’s Basic tier. Kajabi’s premium plans can seem a little too expensive for those who have used them before. Based on my experience, however, I can empathize somewhat with Kajabi’s premium plans. It went above and beyond with its services, user experience, and pricing.
Kajabi’s Features: A Complete Breakdown
As a one-stop place for all business and content needs, Kajabi is committed to making sure you have enough resources to step into the entrepreneurial world. You can expect more from Kajabi than you might think. Let’s now take a look at some of the key features of the platform and break them down one-by-one.
Course Creation and Management
The ability to create meaningful course content is at the heart of many full-fledged platforms that specialize in educational entrepreneurship (edupreneurship, if you will), Kajabi included. It’s not always easy to create course content. To spread content that has been hard worked to create, it takes weeks of careful brainstorming. The New Kajabi
Kajabi understands the struggle many creators often face, so that’s why it took extra steps to ensure that everything goes according to plan, all while easing the difficulties most individuals can relate to. Kajabi provides a space for its users where they can create powerful courses while also having all the tools they need to expand their reach. This includes how to get more subscribers using convincing teasers and sharing what they know with unique ways to keep them coming back.
Courses and Products
According to Kajabi, products can refer to any digital course that you are bound to take. You can also use it to refer to other forms of the course content. Some similar platforms simply refer to these products as courses due to their educational nature. Kajabi, on the other, knows how important the term implies – It’s not just the varying amount of knowledge put into a feasible outcome that matters, but also how well it sells to audiences everywhere.
Kajabi currently offers seven types of products. Each is available as a blueprint, or template, that you can generate and edit right away once you’ve selected one. One of those is an Online Course in which you’re allowed to create a content-filled course with as many lessons and media files and as much information as possible. The other is, straight-up, a Blank blueprint where you can simply start from scratch and add whatever you wish to add.
Apart from the main course and blank template, other product blueprints offered by Kajabi include:
- Mini-courses – for whenever you want to produce a quick, easy-to-digest course as a freebie or bonus, something to build extra value for your brand and anticipation for what’s to come
- Evergreen Training – also known as Drip Courses, gives you a strategic framework that sees course lessons released periodically, preferably over a series of weeks
- Coaching Program – designed by Wall Street bestselling author Brendan Burchard, lets you create an intimate 12-week program as a means to enhance your skills to the next level
- Membership – for when you want to store all your content in one central platform where your subscribers can explore anytime
- For when you want to make a community where your members can share their thoughts and ideas about your courses, and other matters.
The Course Building Process
After selecting your preferred product blueprint, it’s now time to build your course by adding whatever needs to be added. Whether you do it from scratch or tailor it from an existing template, the next best thing you must do is incorporate all the knowledge and skills you’ve collected through the years into an information-enriched course.
As you navigate through Kajabi’s course builder page, you’ll get to explore a multitude of customization and editing options. You can add the title and sections of the course to Kajabi’s course builder page, upload a poster or thumbnail that matches your goals, and adjust the flow of your outline.
Additionally, you may upload downloadable PDFs, attach media files, utilize bulk uploads powered by cloud storage software, and add e-mail automations, among other things. If you discover further in Kajabi’s course builder, you may also try out cloning sections and adding announcements within the course to keep your students engaged within your course.
The Course Framework
In Kajabi, the sections that comprise the course are referred to as categories, while the lessons placed under those categories are named posts. Each category under a product may be a placeholder for distinct subtopics that are adjacent to the main topic. The same can be said for posts, the subtopics of the primary one are replaced with lessons under each subtopic.
Apart from the categories and posts, Kajabi also allows you to add subcategories under the former – this is quite helpful, especially if you have a huge curriculum in mind and you want to dissect it into digestible parts for your students to understand better.
Kajabi allows you to choose whether the product’s contents are released periodically or simultaneously. You can choose to release the content of Drip Courses within a few days, or even one week, depending on how long you want. You may also opt for the Lock feature to block students’ access to any category unless they finish a prerequisite.
Explore Kajabi’s Course Players
For every course, there needs to be a place where they can be presented for anyone to see, click, and go further – and an attractive one, too. Kajabi’s Course Player feature is precisely what it aims to be, with an optimized platform to store and present your products to the students that are subscribed to them. You can customize the courses and the course player to create a better learning experience.
Kajabi offers over 10 themes for default course players. In other platforms, you may notice most may have only three themes or only one in-store. Comparing that to Kajabi’s larger range will immediately show the difference. What I particularly like about it is that there are more options to explore – Kajabi surely may be quite too pricey to afford for some, but we can at least appreciate how much it gives to offer us this privilege! The New Kajabi
Choose any of the course player themes, and you’ll be given the chance to customize it however you want it to look, from the images and colors down to the fonts and graphics. Since Kajabi prioritizes convenience as best as possible, you won’t need to learn code just to make your course player look good. You can upload your customized theme if you are more proficient in web design.
Interactions between Instructors and Students. Assessments
Communication is crucial to student success and an opportunity to earn the trust of the instructor. For this reason, Kajabi provides a variety of ways for you and your members to interact. One of them is the Community feature, which you may choose to offer as a standalone product or part of the membership package. It works like a social media site where subscribers can post, view who’s online, comment on lessons, and share them. Another comes in the form of comments under every lesson – you may choose to manage, hide, or even disable them altogether.
A surefire way to keep your members engaged is through assessments, which involves creating quizzes based on the lessons you’ve taught them to stimulate their minds. There are different types of questions that you may use to create an assessment, from multiple-choice questions to paragraph fill-ins. To encourage students to do better, you may set a passing score. If not, don’t give them any pressure.
As great as Kajabi’s assessment feature may seem, it’s a bit apparent that it may fall short a bit when it comes to delivery. Kajabi appears to be the only course-building service that doesn’t offer native certification tools, which is a significant difference from other services. I don’t mind about it as much, but for those who like to give out certificates, you may be out of luck in this one. This one asset would have been a great way to reward students for their accomplishments, such as finishing the course.
Website Building Tools
Kajabi’s ability to provide powerful, yet easy tools for creating websites is another important aspect. Kajabi’s built-in website builder allows you to create and customize your website without having to rely on third-party providers. The platform offers free hosting for all plans.
The Kajabi website builder is also easy to navigate, although there are times when the interface can be a bit confusing. The drag-and-drop techniques apply to the editor, but it’s not what you would expect – instead of the usual “drag the blocks/widgets from the menu and drop them into the workspace,” you just drag to rearrange sections of a page from the top to bottom on the left-hand menu, and the workspace, once updated, will reflect the change.
Website Design and Customization
With Kajabi’s website builder, you get to select from 14 of its exclusive themes, (eight updated regular themes and six legacy ones) complete with a full set of pages to make your process as smooth as possible. Once you’ve found the theme of choice for your website, you may go ahead and customize it however you want based on your flow or vision. The New Kajabi
You may do so by adding or deleting each page’s building blocks, which comprise many types of content such as text and font styles, media widgets, pricing, offers, FAQs, and testimonials. To grab the attention of your audience, you can include countdown widgets and fill-in forms as well as social media content and call-to-action buttons.
Kajabi has many other ways to customize your website. One is by tweaking the overall look to fit your or your business’s aesthetic through the theme settings tab. You can change the default typography, icons and color scheme of the site, as well as the background or profile color.
Another option is to upload a custom theme that’s not in Kajabi’s collection, much like with Course Player. Kajabi also lets you connect a custom domain to the website you just made. The platform may already have a default domain prepared for you, but if you’re looking forward to maximizing your business without the Kajabi branding, you can by connecting to a domain purchased from a third-party platform like GoDaddy.
The Types of Pages You Need for Your Website
A common Kajabi theme is made up of pages that are linked to each other as soon as you click them. These pages include the home page that explains the basics of your business, the library where you can store all your Kajabi content, and a place where customers can buy your products.
For every Kajabi-optimized theme, you have the option to delete or add any page you like. There are more page options for you to explore other than home and landing pages, such as a log-in page, thank-you page, 404 error screen, portfolio, FAQ, policies, opt-in pages, and a coming soon page. You can also create a blog page if blogging is part of your specialty or skill. This allows you to compile all your published posts into an archive that readers have access to at any time.
Kajabi’s built-in blogging function allows you to publish posts to your blog and make them visible to everyone. We all know that blogs can be used to post articles related to a variety of topics, even those that may be adjacent to one’s current skill set, right? Kajabi’s version serves much the same purpose.
If you wish to give updates on the products or content you plan to release in the future, share a handful of tips based on what you’ve learned so far in your chosen path as a means to inspire others, or offer search engine-optimized articles to boost your traffic in any way, you may fancy yourself with Kajabi’s blogging tools. The New Kajabi
It functions similarly to that of well-recognized blogging platforms such as WordPress – you type in the words you want to say, the media files and links you want to share, and the tags for which you think your post is more appropriate. Once everything’s ready, you may have the option to either publish it immediately, post it as unlisted, or set a schedule to save time. Kajabi’s blogging feature may not have the same dynamic prowess as WordPress’s, but it’s functional enough for anyone to use.
Marketing, Sales, and CRM
Your brand’s reputation can be affected by how you market your products. An effective marketing strategy has a better chance for your creations to gain clout and revenue. A poorly organized strategy can lead to low to no turnouts. Kajabi provides a comprehensive suite of sales and marketing tools that will help you maximize your product’s potential and make it easy to sell. It is also surprising to me that it outperforms other top competitors in this field.
Convenient Sales Pipelines
A well-designed sales funnel could lead to better opportunities for your business, but designing one can be quite a struggle, especially if you’re not that well-versed in marketing stuff. Kajabi comes to the rescue with its effectively designed pre-made pipelines, all of which are customizable and ready for use. There are 14 templates in total, seven of which are default and seven for legacy templates.
Each one is tailored to your product promotion needs. You may give away freebies to your potential subscribers to keep them interested, show your courses in a way they can be tempted to purchase, coach them, or hold a Zoom meeting. Sales pipeline blueprints are a big help in generating leads and increasing traffic leading to my content, and I honestly have never been glad to be able to use them.
Kajabi’s collection selling pipelines, like other popular courses platforms, are simple and straightforward. The blueprints are automatically created for you, so it doesn’t take any special skills. A Kajabi sales funnel contains cards, which, in turn, contain pages, automations, and sequences that your customers will be greeted upon.
Marketing by E-mail and Automations
E-mail marketing is a reliable strategy for businesses of any size. It can be used to promote new releases by musicians or to update your customers about new and current items at your favorite retailers. The same can be said for courses and other learning materials – Kajabi’s built-in e-mail marketing feature helps keep your members and potential customers highly engaged with the content you’ve released.
You might be interested in two types of e mail campaigns: email broadcasts, which you can use to send one email to your subscribers about your courses (like a newsletter) and sequences that you create messages based on user activity using automations. Some of you may be familiar with it, but if you have zero knowledge about how e-mail automations work, let me tell you how great of a time-saver it is! The New Kajabi
Automations are generally designed to reduce the workload. In this instance, you won’t need to send e-mails manually as you can set them to correspond to student actions. With Kajabi’s e-mail sequencing feature, all you’d need to do is create messages, choose when to have them sent, tag any of your subscribers who meet a certain condition and into different categories, and you’re all set.
You can create e-mails in Kajabi, as well as automations and campaigns. The platform has a variety of templates that you can choose and use, and its e-mail editor allows you to edit how you want it to look the same way you’d do with website pages – tweak the hierarchy of your building blocks from top to bottom, add sections, and, if you have an eye for design, switch up the color palette and upload images to further set the mood.
CRM for managing members
Managing individuals who are subscribed to your courses can be a pain, and even more so if the provided platform for it is unstable. Thankfully, most course management services have functional CRM (customer relationship management) tools that they can rely on to keep your students on track, Kajabi included.
Kajabi’s CRM section, also known by its term People if you sign in, allows you to check on the activities of your members from afar. You can see who bought your products, who subscribed to your membership and track their progress. You can also see who has been inactive longer.
Check out the profile of one of your students to learn more about them. This is where you see their lifecycle or how long they’ve purchased your course, as well as detailed info including the time and date of when they first signed in. Kajabi’s People feature can be useful in checking who has performed poorly and giving them a boost with feedback notes and, if necessary, a few freebies to get them back on track.
Kajabi’s CRM features go beyond the People dashboard. Course assessments and affiliate management are included in the bundle. The former has been discussed in detail before, but the latter is something we are about to discover.
Kajabi Affiliate Program
As a way of expanding its reach, a successful business can recruit affiliates. Limited only to users in the Growth and Pro plans, the Kajabi Affiliate Program offers them a handful of resources needed to transform their members into trustworthy affiliates of your brand. You simply need to convince your most active students to sign up for the program. They may also be eligible to receive a portion of your earnings.
Kajabi Affiliates will help you build a bigger following. You could also have more chances of generating extra clicks and elevating the conversion rate of your content. This one might be useful if you are already a professional in your industry. You can track and manage your affiliates, and see how they are doing. The New Kajabi
You can send them links to share, track how many clicks they have, track potential sales and even kick one out if they aren’t satisfied. You can also create a customized affiliate onboarding page to further encourage your members to sign up, share announcements to boost their morale, and even generate links to any website – not just to Kajabi!
Sales, Payments and Accurate Analytics
Many course management companies take a small percentage, too much, or even half of the profits you make from selling courses. Kajabi, meanwhile, makes sure that the money you earn goes straight into your pocket. One thing I like about Kajabi the most is that it lets me keep 100% of my revenue from selling my products – this gave me a huge morale boost that I wouldn’t usually get from other platforms.
While I can understand why they needed to make cuts to maintain their business model, it is a problem for edupreneurs who want to grow and are keen to improve. Kajabi offers a solution that will allow them to grow, despite their high price tag. You can control how refunds are handled, in addition to the advantage of keeping your earnings private. Kajabi isn’t that strict when it comes to this issue, giving its users the chance to do whatever they want – they can either let their members have access to their content even after requesting a refund or otherwise.
Kajabi provides native integrations to the payment gateways Stripe and PayPal. Stripe takes care of primarily credit and debit cards as well as e-wallet providers, and there’s no need to explain further about PayPal since it’s a very common mode of payment online. Take note, though, that you may need to pay service fees to whichever payment gateway you plan to use – technically, you’d have your revenue deducted in some capacity, but not in a major way.
Do you want to get in-depth insight to improve your business? Kajabi’s reporting and analytics features are just two ways you can do this. Analytics provides ratings, charts and graphs to show how your courses are performing so far. You can also explore a variety of reporting options, including net revenue, sales performance, website views, and subscription metrics. You can print and export all data from these features to other platforms. The New Kajabi
Customer Service and Support
Kajabi is more than a great array of features. It equally shines when it comes to customer support, which has amassed an overwhelmingly positive reception among many who have used the platform to make business.
Its customer service hotlines, for example, serve as reliable outlets for people to ask whenever they need assistance on the spot or have any questions in mind. If you’re too shy to ask, you can always explore Kajabi’s expansive library of learning resources to guide you along the way. We have a lot of useful stuff to look through. Let’s go over each one.
Team of Customer Service Representatives available on-demand
Kajabi’s customer service team is divided into chat support and ticket support. The chat support service, which is backed by marketing and course creation experts, can be accessed by all users, regardless of their plan type. The only difference is the time it’s available. Those under the Basic plan can only access the chat feature during office hours. Growth and Pro users can access the chat feature 24 hours a days, seven days per week. You can rest assured that no matter which plan you choose, you will receive a prompt answer within 15 minutes. The New Kajabi
If you don’t feel like chatting or want to be distracted, you can submit a request ticket. You can simply enter the inquiry that you are interested in, the appropriate category, your email address and attachments and send them all to Kajabi. Expect to receive an e-mail from the customer support team in your inbox within the next few hours.
Kajabi Help Center
If you’re not much of a big fan of reaching out online to people in real-time, or if you prefer finding the answers to your questions at your own pace, Kajabi has got your back with unlimited access to its Help Center. The New Kajabi
It’s divided into many topics to assist you in getting started. It is filled with videos, photos, and articles that are rich with valuable and informative information. These include information on setting up your website, creating a sales funnel, and navigating through your account dashboard.
Kajabi Access is one of Kajabi’s most recent offerings. It gives entrepreneurs support and guidance to help them succeed in their industry. It is available as an add-on to any existing plan for only $99/month. Although the price is higher than those of the other tiers, we know enough about Kajabi to say that it’s worth it. The New Kajabi
Kajabi Access will allow you to have one-on-one conversations with Kajabi’s experts. However, this is limited to six times per year. You’ll get twice the product and funnel allowances, weekly Hero Hub sessions, early access to Kajabi’s latest features and products, and an additional bonus.
Kajabi University, which is similar to Kajabi Access and offers a wealth of learning resources that will help entrepreneurs start a business. While the former achieves it mainly through intimate encounters with bona fide experts and noteworthy upgrades, the latter does it by letting you sift through a rich library of informative courses that you can enroll in – and download – at any time. The New Kajabi
Kajabi University’s content is broken down into specific boot camps, how-to guides sets, difficulty levels, as well as niche topics. The duration of these courses can range from a measly six minutes to four full hours worth of lessons. Each course covers a variety of topics necessary for Kajabi, from a beginner’s guide to creating your first video lesson to a slew of marketing methods hosted by real-life professionals.
Webinars, meet-ups and a Community of Heroes
One of my favorite things I’ve learned about Kajabi since I came across it for the first time is that it champions the community of the people who have helped build the platform from the ground up, even more than some of the other course-building services out there. And it does so in a way similar to how it champions user convenience and accommodations to leverage the standing of its users. The New Kajabi
Kajabi offers entrepreneurs from all walks of life a variety of outlets where they can interact with one another – and inspire each other to be at their very best. These include live and on demand webinars that feature talks and discussions from experts and distinguished guests, virtual meetups where Kajabi creators can share advice and connect, as well as exclusive access to Kajabi Heroes’ private Facebook group. The New Kajabi
Speaking of Kajabi Heroes, it’s worth noting that, apart from the online interactions, Kajabi takes it seriously when it comes to giving its user base the best it has to offer – not just figuratively, but literally. Kajabi affectionately calls each customer who uses the platform to achieve success a “Hero.” The Hero Rewards program allows Hero’s to receive gifts and other freebies right at their doorstep once they have reached certain milestones. These can include stationery, clothing, accessories, bags, reusable cups, and mugs as well as honorary badges.
Kajabi’s Pros and Cons
You may be already impressed with the number of options the Kajabi platform offers. It has its flaws, but they don’t overshadow its strengths. Let’s look at all of Kajabi’s pros and cons!
- It offers a well-organized and sleek user interface that is easy to use. This makes it a highly functional and robust experience for all who use it.
- It’s easy, flexible, and nearly entirely intuitive to use, from website building and course creation to payment processing
- It provides free website hosting and lets you build a fully functioning one. This is something that a few course management platforms can’t offer.
- It houses a plethora of excellent in-house tools from marketing down to user management – this minimizes the need to integrate with third-party apps
- Its customization capabilities are not just simple but also robust
- You’d pay no service fees and it would take zero percent of your profits.
- It provides a social media-esque feed where you and your members can interact and communicate with one another
- It is known for its excellent customer service and rich information resource library.
- It prioritizes its user base community over all other features.
- It has a higher price range compared to other course-building platforms – this is because it follows a different framework and business model that doesn’t resort to burdening the user
- It does not have a native tool for recognizing students. It also lacks assessment features, such as the inability of setting the length of each question or uploading question files.
- Its management feature lacks other essential and advanced tools like SMS marketing, custom tracking for affiliates, and inventory tracking
- Although the interface is flexible and intuitive, there are some functions that can be difficult to use.
Alternatives to Kajabi
It took me many years of research and skillful thinking to find the right course management platform for me when I started my journey into educational entrepreneurship. Since then, my course-building and marketing capabilities have expanded beyond how much skill I used to have when I was a rookie, and so it was fitting for me to move over to other services that would match my increasing demand. The New Kajabi
Now that I have gained near-expert-level skills, necessities, and budget to keep me going as an edupreneur, I’ve found a place I can call my home in Kajabi. It has been a great resource for me to connect with colleagues who are already well-established and have shared their knowledge with the rest of the world. Kajabi can seem to offer as many tools as you need to increase your chances of success, but it should not be your only option. Some functions may not be right for you, and you shouldn’t have to struggle with them. The New Kajabi
Thankfully, backed with years of experience down the line, I can confidently share with you some very useful alternatives to the Kajabi service. The following three course-building platforms are among those that I’ve personally used to make and sell my content before Kajabi. Take note that, among the three, you might find one that has whatever you’re looking for in a service. To help you make a decision, I recommend that you do additional research on any one of them.
Kajabi and Thinkific are two of the most popular online course management platforms. Known by many for its clever selection of industry-level tools needed to craft a course and cultivate a community, Thinkific has the upper hand when it comes to its beginner-friendly accessibility, making it easier for anyone to try.
It also has partly an advantage in its set of plans – Thinkific’s equivalent to the Kajabi Basic tier lets you create unlimited courses and students for only $74 per month, and its free plan is a great way for absolute newbies to start their journey in edupreneurship. Though Thinkific and Kajabi have a near-identical range of features and can accommodate both beginners and those with budget and expertise, it’s worth noting that there are some aspects that one may excel better than the other.
Another popular service with sizable clout and reputation, Teachable shines best when it comes to the process of making enriching course content. It contains a slew of competitive and comprehensive course management features, including native certification, drag-and-drop editing, and additional course options including one-on-one coaching sessions.
The payment gateway support for Teachable is also diverse, allowing users to add Google Pay and Apple Pay options, in addition to credit/debit and e-wallet. While its dynamic course-building has helped get Teachable to where it is today, it does lack in other aspects, most notably its community-building capabilities. If you don’t mind any of those or want to focus more on course-building, you may have found a match in Teachable.
They’ve also generally admired its ability to fit as many features as it can in very budget-friendly pricing plans, with the most premium plan available at as low as $166/month – only a few dollars much cheaper than Kajabi’s $119/mo starter tier. Podia might be a better option if you are looking to grow your edupreneur following but have limited budget.
Kajabi: The Bottom Line
Kajabi is the one-stop-shop for course content management. Kajabi excels in almost all (if not all) of what you would expect: course-making (to a certain degree), sales, promoting, websites, customer support, heck even customer service!
While Kajabi’s offerings and platform help create an opportunity for dynamic usage, we can’t fully gloss over its limits. It lacks core and advanced tools as well as additional marketing and product management options. This has caused me some problems.
The confusion with the editing layout doesn’t help either. The interface was not what I expected when I first explored the website editor. Perhaps it was my insatiable desire to use the editor, to the point that I forgot to read the instructions or my recurring practice of dragging and dropping into any editor.
Regardless, there is a fairly slight learning curve in some parts, so watch out! Kajabi can help you not only build your career but also grow and develop it into a successful one. Kajabi.com is the best place to start your edupreneur journey if you are already established or have sufficient resources.
FAQ The New Kajabi
Are Kajabi-made sites reliable and safe to use?
Although I don’t have a lot of experience building websites, I can tell you that Kajabi-made sites are amazing. Not only will your website receive free hosting provided by the platform itself. It will also come with an SSL safety certificate, fast video hosting thanks to Wistia, and a generally adept user interface. There are no problems as well when it comes to stability and loading, so I can assure you that you’ll be in good hands!
Is Kajabi open to third-party integration?
Kajabi doesn’t require you to integrate with third party platforms. All course-building tools and marketing tools can be found in one location. If you want to maximize your use, however, Kajabi currently has ten native integrations to third-party apps. This includes Zapier. It also has an API tool that lets you manually connect with other platforms – that is, if you know how to code well.
Does Kajabi offer a mobile app?
Yes, it does! Kajabi currently offers a mobile application that’s available on the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android. Your members/subscribers can use this app to read texts, view photos and videos, answer your quizzes, and even communicate with you from anywhere. Take note that, while you and your students can access your course materials on the go, you will most likely have limited access in terms of management.
