Are you looking for a Kajabi review that is concise? If you’re stepping into the world of course creation yet having a hard time choosing the right platform to set your plans into motion, you’ve come to the right place!
I have been creating and selling courses that are based on what I have learned. I’ve even made some money doing this. The process can be a struggle, but the payoff is worth it. This includes the preparation of materials that can be put out to the public, as well as other things like sales. However, it is equally important to consider the software/program.
Since I began, I’ve used a handful of platforms to promote my courses, but none of them hold up better than Kajabi. And today, I’ll be talking about what it is, how it works, everything in between, and, lastly, my honest opinion after using it for longer. Let’s begin!
For those of you who prefer a more visual experience, here is a video review from Legit Marketing Reviews’ YouTube channel. To get a comprehensive overview of Kajabi, you may still want to check out our article below.
What is Kajabi? Kajabi Creator
Kajabi is an online course-building service that has been popularly known for its unique trait as a one-stop platform and the go-to place for all course business needs. If building and selling content for profit is your goal or forte, its outstanding variety of features and tools make it easy to get to whatever you want.
With Kajabi, you get to create courses based on your possessed skills or profession, but, since it’s an all-in-one place, there is more than it has to offer. More than the traditional course, you can also create an exclusive membership subscription, host an intimate coaching program, run a podcast, and even send out newsletter e-mails to your customers with its state-of-the-art automation features.
Kajabi is very easy to use. For a platform as jam-packed and well-versed as it is, it’s impressive to note that its user experience manages to be as convenient and fuss-free as possible. Kajabi is a platform that I have used many times. I don’t need to know any technical jargon to use its features. No need to do some extra coding, as Kajabi handles the rest for you, saving you time and effort in the long run.
Some course builders don’t have this feature, but Kajabi offers users the ability to create websites to host their content. As there is a lot of potential in selling courses, it also offers a slew of marketing and sales tools to promote them to a wider audience. This includes checkouts and payments, sales funnels, detailed analytics, and even integrations – all very useful, especially if you sell your content as products for a living.
It doesn’t end there. Kajabi offers a wealth of support and resources that can be accessed whenever a problem arises. With a huge database of help articles and videos, on-demand training courses with Kajabi University, and a budding community of Kajabi Hero entrepreneurs, you may get to learn a lot of valuable information and even improve how you earn to the max.
It’s easy to see why Kajabi is a favorite among content entrepreneurs. If you somehow don’t believe in it yet, then maybe this Trustpilot rating can convince you – take a look at the reviews and you’ll see more are liking it so far! Kajabi Creator
Since its founding more than a decade ago, Kajabi has helped build more than 100k businesses, oversaw the creation of 300k+ products from courses to newsletters, and has earned a whopping $4 billion in sales. We can appreciate how popular this platform is in course-building. However, there are some glaring omissions like its expensive plans and lack of key features such as certifications.
Using Kajabi in a Nutshell: How It Works
Ever since I came across this platform, I’ve never been so glad to have Kajabi as my go-to place for promoting the skills I know and selling them to those who are thirsty for knowledge. It’s great to learn more about it.
Essentially, with Kajabi, you get to do a wide variety of ways:
- You can create courses by either building them up from its offering of templates or doing it all from scratch;
- You can create any type of website you like to display your content. It could be your homepage/store, your course content landing page, or a space for customers to visit. Kajabi Creator
- Sell any type of product whether they be free as a bonus, charged with competitive one-time payment pricing, or as subscriptions; and
- You can use its marketing, reporting and sales functions to reach more people, from affiliates to sales funnel blueprints.
Kajabi is commonly used in two ways: to build products that will be marketed and sold in a uniquely personalized platform, and to simply create a website to host other types of content and solutions beyond courses.
I’ve personally used Kajabi for the first and primary reason why it was established in the first place – to make, host, and sell content that I’ve always been confident in putting. But, either way, its impressive capacities have created this service a leading platform for sharing new things with people from all walks of life.
Kajabi’s Pricing Plan
Kajabi currently offers three pricing options:
- The Basic Plan, which costs as low as $119/month (billed annually from here onward),
- The Growth Plan, priced starting at $159/month, and
- The Pro Plan costs $319 per month.
The Basic plan allows you to create three products and three sales funnels. You can also create unlimited landing pages, marketing e-mails and gain up to 1000 customers.
The Growth Tier allows you to explore most of the features, plus upgrades like 10,000 customers, ten administrators for one site, advanced automations and the Kajabi affiliate programme. You can also remove all Kajabi branding and from your website and courses.
Kajabi Pro continues to expand the features of the site with access the code editor. There are also level-up upgrades such as an allowance for 100 products or 100 funnels, 20,000 customers and three websites.
It cannot currently offer a completely free plan, which may be unfortunate for those who may be wondering if there ever was one. But, despite this, Kajabi does offer a free 14-day trial for each of its available plans. If you are interested in giving it a try, this is the time to do so.
A common criticism Kajabi has received is how expensive the price range is compared to other platforms, as some offer their version of premium plans starting at a quarter or even half the price of Kajabi’s Basic tier. Kajabi’s premium plans can seem a little too expensive for those who have used them before. But based on my experience, I think I kind of empathize with the platform knowing that it went all out with its services and user experience, so it makes sense why the pricing was this way.
Kajabi’s Features: A Complete Breakdown
As a one-stop place for all business and content needs, Kajabi is committed to making sure you have enough resources to step into the entrepreneurial world. You can expect more from Kajabi than you might think. Let’s now take a look at some of the key features of the platform and break them down one-by-one.
Course Creation and Management
The ability to create meaningful course content is at the heart of many full-fledged platforms that specialize in educational entrepreneurship (edupreneurship, if you will), Kajabi included. It’s not always easy to create course content. To spread content that has been hard worked to create, it takes weeks of careful brainstorming. Kajabi Creator
Kajabi knows the struggles creators face. That’s why it went the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly, while also addressing the common issues most people can relate to. Kajabi provides a space for its users where they can create powerful courses while also having all the tools they need to expand their reach. This includes how to get more subscribers using convincing teasers and sharing what they know with unique ways to keep them coming back.
Courses and Products
In Kajabi’s terms, products refer to any type of digital course you’re bound to make. It can also refer to other forms that may, or may not, contain the usual course content. Some similar platforms simply refer to these products as courses due to their educational nature. Kajabi on the other hand, understands the importance of the term. It’s not only the amount of knowledge that goes into making a product feasible, but also how it sells to people around the world.
Kajabi currently offers seven types of products. Each is available as a blueprint, or template, that you can generate and edit right away once you’ve selected one. One of those is an Online Course in which you’re allowed to create a content-filled course with as many lessons and media files and as much information as possible. The other is, straight-up, a Blank blueprint where you can simply start from scratch and add whatever you wish to add.
Apart from the main course and blank template, other product blueprints offered by Kajabi include:
- Mini-courses – for whenever you want to produce a quick, easy-to-digest course as a freebie or bonus, something to build extra value for your brand and anticipation for what’s to come
- Evergreen Training, also known as Drip Courses gives you a strategic framework. Course lessons are released regularly, preferably over a number of weeks.
- Coaching Program – designed by Wall Street bestselling author Brendan Burchard, lets you create an intimate 12-week program as a means to enhance your skills to the next level
- Membership – This is for when all of your content needs are met in one platform that your subscribers can access at any time.
- For when you want to make a community where your members can share their thoughts and ideas about your courses, and other matters.
The Course Building Process
After selecting your preferred product blueprint, it’s now time to build your course by adding whatever needs to be added. Whether you do it from scratch or tailor it from an existing template, the next best thing you must do is incorporate all the knowledge and skills you’ve collected through the years into an information-enriched course.
Kajabi’s page for course builders will allow you to explore many customization and editing options. You can add the title and sections of the course to Kajabi’s course builder page, upload a poster or thumbnail that matches your goals, and adjust the flow of your outline.
You can also upload downloadable PDFs and attach media files. Bulk uploads are possible using cloud storage software. If you discover further in Kajabi’s course builder, you may also try out cloning sections and adding announcements within the course to keep your students engaged within your course.
The Course Framework
The sections of a Kajabi course are called categories. Lessons placed under these categories are called posts. Each category under a product may be a placeholder for distinct subtopics that are adjacent to the main topic. The same can be said for posts, the subtopics of the primary one are replaced with lessons under each subtopic.
Kajabi allows you to add categories to the posts. This is especially useful if you have a large curriculum and want to break it down into manageable parts that your students can understand.
Kajabi gives you the option to release the product’s contents either periodically or simultaneously. In its Drip Courses, especially, you may choose the Drip option to set the release duration of the categories within a few days or even a week from each other. The Lock feature can be used to prevent students from accessing any category until they have completed a prerequisite.
Exploring Kajabi’s Course Player
Every course needs a place that allows them to be seen, clicked, and taken further. It should also be attractive. Kajabi’s Course Player feature is precisely what it aims to be, with an optimized platform to store and present your products to the students that are subscribed to them. You can customize the courses and the course player to create a better learning experience.
Kajabi has over 10 default course player themes to choose from. In other platforms, you may notice most may have only three themes or only one in-store. Compare that with Kajabi’s wider range, all you’ll notice the difference right away. It has more options. While Kajabi may seem too expensive for many, we can still appreciate the privilege it offers us. Kajabi Creator
Choose any of the course player themes, and you’ll be given the chance to customize it however you want it to look, from the images and colors down to the fonts and graphics. Since Kajabi prioritizes convenience as best as possible, you won’t need to learn code just to make your course player look good. You can upload your customized theme if you are more proficient in web design.
Instructor-Student Interactions and Assessments
Communication is key to a student’s success and a means to gain the trust of the instructor. For this reason, Kajabi provides a variety of ways for you and your members to interact. The Community feature is one of these. You can offer it as a separate product or as part of your membership package. It works like a social media site where subscribers can post, view who’s online, comment on lessons, and share them. You can manage, hide or disable comments for every lesson.
A surefire way to keep your members engaged is through assessments, which involves creating quizzes based on the lessons you’ve taught them to stimulate their minds. You can use a variety of questions when creating an assessment. These could include multiple-choice questions or paragraph fill-ins. You may even set a passing score to encourage your students to do better… or don’t at all if you’re not into giving them more pressure.
As great as Kajabi’s assessment feature may seem, it’s a bit apparent that it may fall short a bit when it comes to delivery. Compared to other course-building services, Kajabi seems to be one of the few that don’t offer native certification tools. I don’t mind about it as much, but for those who like to give out certificates, you may be out of luck in this one. Having this one asset in Kajabi would have been helpful to reward students easily for their achievements such as finishing the course.
Website Building Tools
Aside from course-building, another important aspect of Kajabi is its ability to house powerful yet simple tools for creating a website. Kajabi has a built-in website builder that allows you to create and customize a fully-functioning website of your own without the need to rely on external providers. As expected, the platform provides free hosting on all plans to have your visions come to life!
Although the Kajabi website builder can be very easy to use, there are times when it can be confusing. The drag-and-drop techniques apply to the editor, but it’s not what you would expect – instead of the usual “drag the blocks/widgets from the menu and drop them into the workspace,” you just drag to rearrange sections of a page from the top to bottom on the left-hand menu, and the workspace, once updated, will reflect the change.
Website Design and Customization
With Kajabi’s website builder, you get to select from 14 of its exclusive themes, (eight updated regular themes and six legacy ones) complete with a full set of pages to make your process as smooth as possible. Once you’ve found the theme of choice for your website, you may go ahead and customize it however you want based on your flow or vision. Kajabi Creator
This can be done by adding or removing each page’s construction blocks. These include many types of content like text and font styles as well as media widgets, pricing and offers, FAQs and testimonials. To grab the attention of your audience, you can include countdown widgets and fill-in forms as well as social media content and call-to-action buttons.
The customization doesn’t stop there with building blocks, as Kajabi offers a few alternative ways to personalize your website. You can adjust the theme settings tab to make your website more personal or fit the needs of your business. You can change the default typography, icons and color scheme of the site, as well as the background or profile color.
Another is simply uploading a fully customized theme that’s not part of Kajabi’s library, just like you would with the Course Player. Kajabi allows you to connect your custom domain to the site you have just created. The platform may already have a default domain prepared for you, but if you’re looking forward to maximizing your business without the Kajabi branding, you can by connecting to a domain purchased from a third-party platform like GoDaddy.
The Types of Pages for Your Website
As already mentioned, a common Kajabi website theme is composed of pre-made pages that link to each other even as you click on them. These include the standard home page which normally contains the gist of what your business or service offers, a library to house all the content you’ve uploaded on Kajabi, a functioning store where users can purchase your products on the spot, and, especially, landing and sales pages to help convince new customers to try out your content for themselves.
You have the ability to add or delete any page from any Kajabi-optimized template. There are more page options for you to explore other than home and landing pages, such as a log-in page, thank-you page, 404 error screen, portfolio, FAQ, policies, opt-in pages, and a coming soon page. If you happen to have blogging as part of your specialties or skills, there is a separate blogging page that lets you compile your published posts into an archive that readers can look into at any time.
Kajabi’s built-in blogging function allows you to publish posts to your blog and make them visible to everyone. Blogs can be used to publish articles on a wide range of topics. Well, Kajabi’s version has much of the same purpose.
Kajabi’s blog tools can be used to update your readers on products and content that you are planning to release. Kajabi Creator
It works in the same way as other well-recognized blogging platforms like WordPress. You simply type the words you want, the media files and hyperlinks you want to share and the tags you feel are more appropriate for your post. Once everything’s ready, you may have the option to either publish it immediately, post it as unlisted, or set a schedule to save time. Kajabi’s blogging feature may not have the same dynamic prowess as WordPress’s, but it’s functional enough for anyone to use.
Marketing, Sales, and CRM
In course management, how you market and sell your products can either make or break your brand standing. An effective marketing strategy has a better chance for your creations to gain clout and revenue. Otherwise, a poorly-organized one may lead to low to zero turnouts. The process of planning how to make products as sellable as possible can be such a daunting task, and Kajabi remedies this by providing an impressive suite of marketing and sales tools designed to maximize your platform and ease your convenience. It is also surprising to me that it outperforms other top competitors in this field.
Convenient Sales Pipelines
A well-designed funnel can lead to greater opportunities for your company. However, designing one can be difficult, especially if it’s not something you are very familiar with. Kajabi comes to the rescue with its effectively designed pre-made pipelines, all of which are customizable and ready for use. There are 14 templates in total, seven of which are default and seven for legacy templates.
Each one is tailored to your product promotion needs. You may give away freebies to your potential subscribers to keep them interested, show your courses in a way they can be tempted to purchase, coach them, or hold a Zoom meeting. Sales pipeline blueprints are a big help in generating leads and increasing traffic leading to my content, and I honestly have never been glad to be able to use them.
As with some popular course platforms that have this feature, Kajabi’s collection sales pipelines are convenient and straightforward, plus it requires zero expert skills to get things right as the blueprint is automatically laid out for you. Kajabi’s sales funnel includes cards that contain pages, automations and sequences that will be welcomed by your customers.
E-mail Marketing and Automations
Sending e-mails is a fail-proof marketing strategy that businesses of all types use, whether it be to promote new releases from musical artists or to share updates on new and on-sale items from your favorite retailers. The same can be said for courses and other learning materials – Kajabi’s built-in e-mail marketing feature helps keep your members and potential customers highly engaged with the content you’ve released.
You might be interested in two types of e mail campaigns: email broadcasts, which you can use to send one email to your subscribers about your courses (like a newsletter) and sequences that you create messages based on user activity using automations. Some of you may be familiar with it, but if you have zero knowledge about how e-mail automations work, let me tell you how great of a time-saver it is! Kajabi Creator
Automations are generally designed to reduce the workload. In this instance, you won’t need to send e-mails manually as you can set them to correspond to student actions. Kajabi’s email sequencing feature allows you to create messages and choose the time they should be sent. You can also tag subscribers that meet certain conditions and put them into different categories.
Campaigns and automations aside, did you know that you can also create e-mails within Kajabi? The platform has a variety of templates that you can choose and use, and its e-mail editor allows you to edit how you want it to look the same way you’d do with website pages – tweak the hierarchy of your building blocks from top to bottom, add sections, and, if you have an eye for design, switch up the color palette and upload images to further set the mood.
CRM for managing members
It can be difficult to manage individuals who have subscribed to your courses. This is especially true if the platform you use for this purpose is not stable. Kajabi and other course management tools have functional CRM (customer relationship management) tools.
Kajabi’s CRM section (also known as People if you sign-in) allows you to monitor the activities of your members remotely. You can see who bought your products, who subscribed to your membership and track their progress. You can also see who has been inactive longer.
You may also explore one of your students in full depth by checking their profile. This is where you see their lifecycle or how long they’ve purchased your course, as well as detailed info including the time and date of when they first signed in. Kajabi’s People feature can be useful in checking who has performed poorly and giving them a boost with feedback notes and, if necessary, a few freebies to get them back on track.
Kajabi’s CRM features go beyond the People dashboard. Course assessments and affiliate management are included in the bundle. We’ve already talked about the former earlier in full detail, but we haven’t come across the latter yet, which is what we’re exactly about to do shortly.
Kajabi Affiliate Program
As a way of expanding its reach, a successful business can recruit affiliates. The Kajabi Affiliate Program is only available to Pro and Growth plan users. It provides them with a few resources to help transform their members into trusted affiliates for your brand. You simply need to convince your most active students to sign up for the program. They may also be eligible to receive a portion of your earnings.
With Kajabi Affiliates, not only could you get to build a stronger following. Your chances of increasing your conversion rate and generating more clicks could be higher with Kajabi Affiliates. This one might be useful if you are already a professional in your industry. You can track and manage your affiliates, and see how they are doing. Kajabi Creator
You get to send them links to be shared, see how many clicks those links have received, track the potential sales to your products, and have the choice to kick one out if you’re unsatisfied. To encourage members to sign up and share announcements, you can create an affiliate onboarding page. This will allow you to generate links to any website, not just Kajabi.
Sales, Payments and Accurate Analytics
Most course management services often take a little bit of, too much of, or half the percentage of your profits made from selling courses. Kajabi, meanwhile, makes sure that the money you earn goes straight into your pocket. Kajabi is my favorite platform because I can keep 100% of the revenue I make from selling my products. This gave me a tremendous morale boost, which I don’t get from other platforms.
I may understand why they had to take cuts as a means to sustain their business model, but for the edupreneurs who are eager to improve, this can be seen as a bit of a disadvantage. Fortunately, Kajabi has a solution to further let them grow, even despite the high price range. Apart from the benefit of keeping all your earnings to yourself, you can also manage how you handle refunds. Kajabi doesn’t have to be strict about this, and allows its users to make their own decisions. They can let their members access their content even after they request a refund.
Kajabi offers native integrations with the payment gateway outlets Stripe and PayPal. Because PayPal is a common method of online payment, Stripe handles credit and debit cards. You may have to pay service fees for the payment gateway that you use. Technically, your revenue would be deducted, but not significantly.
Do you want to get in-depth insight to improve your business? Kajabi’s analytics and reporting features may be just two of the numerous ways to achieve this. Analytics provides ratings, charts and graphs to show how your courses are performing so far. You can also explore a variety of reporting options, including net revenue, sales performance, website views, and subscription metrics. You can print and export all data from these features to other platforms. Kajabi Creator
Customer Service and Support
Kajabi is more than a great array of features. It equally shines when it comes to customer support, which has amassed an overwhelmingly positive reception among many who have used the platform to make business.
For example, the hotlines for customer service are a reliable way for customers to get assistance immediately or for any questions. Kajabi’s vast library of learning materials can be used to help you if you are too shy to ask. There’s a lot of helpful stuff for us to go through, so let’s check each one out.
On-demand Customer Service Teams
Kajabi’s customer service team is divided into chat support and ticket support. The chat support service, which is backed by marketing and course creation experts, can be accessed by all users, regardless of their plan type. The only difference is the time it’s available. Those under the Basic plan can only access the chat feature during office hours. Growth and Pro users, meanwhile, get to utilize it 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No matter what type of plan you use, rest assured that, if you have any inquiries about the service, you are guaranteed to receive a concise answer in as fast as 15 minutes. Kajabi Creator
If you don’t feel like chatting or want to be distracted, you can submit a request ticket. You can simply enter the inquiry that you are interested in, the appropriate category, your email address and attachments and send them all to Kajabi. Within a few hours, you will receive an email from the customer service team in your inbox.
Kajabi Help Centre
If you’re not much of a big fan of reaching out online to people in real-time, or if you prefer finding the answers to your questions at your own pace, Kajabi has got your back with unlimited access to its Help Center. Kajabi Creator
It’s divided into many topics to assist you in getting started. It is filled with videos, photos, and articles that are rich with valuable and informative information. These include details on how to set up your website, create an effective sales funnel pipeline, and navigate through your account dashboard.
Part of Kajabi’s most recent offerings, Kajabi Access takes on a new spin to how the course management platform provides support to maximize the entrepreneur’s footing in the industry. You can add it to any existing plan at $99 per month. Although the price is higher than those of the other tiers, we know enough about Kajabi to say that it’s worth it. Kajabi Creator
Kajabi Access will allow you to have one-on-one conversations with Kajabi’s experts. However, this is limited to six times per year. Not only that but you’ll also be gifted with double the allowance for products and funnels, the weekly Hero Hub sessions, and early access to Kajabi’s latest products and features.
Similar to Kajabi Access, Kajabi University is a jam-packed learning source geared toward guiding fresh entrepreneurs with tips and tricks on how to run a successful business. The former is achieved mainly by intimate meetings with bona fide professionals and notable upgrades. The latter achieves this by allowing you to browse through a rich library informative courses that can be enrolled in at any time. Kajabi Creator
All the content made for Kajabi University is divided into dedicated boot camps and how-to guide sets, difficulty levels, and different niche themes. These courses last anywhere from six to four hours and can be as short as six minutes long. Each course covers a variety of topics necessary for Kajabi, from a beginner’s guide to creating your first video lesson to a slew of marketing methods hosted by real-life professionals.
Webinars, meet-ups and a Community of Heroes
Kajabi is a platform that supports the community of people who helped to build it from the ground up. This is something I love about it. And it does so in a way similar to how it champions user convenience and accommodations to leverage the standing of its users. Kajabi Creator
Kajabi provides entrepreneurs from all walks of the business world with a range of opportunities to connect and encourage each other. These include live and on demand webinars that feature talks and discussions from experts and distinguished guests, virtual meetups where Kajabi creators can share advice and connect, as well as exclusive access to Kajabi Heroes’ private Facebook group. Kajabi Creator
Speaking of Kajabi Heroes, it’s worth noting that, apart from the online interactions, Kajabi takes it seriously when it comes to giving its user base the best it has to offer – not just figuratively, but literally. Kajabi affectionately calls each customer who uses the platform to achieve success a “Hero.” The Hero Rewards program allows Hero’s to receive gifts and other freebies right at their doorstep once they have reached certain milestones. These can include stationery, clothing, accessories, bags, reusable cups, and mugs as well as honorary badges.
Kajabi’s Pros and Cons
By now, you may already be impressed by the sheer amount of offerings the Kajabi platform provides. It has its flaws, but they don’t overshadow its strengths. Let’s look at all of Kajabi’s pros and cons!
- It offers a well-organized and sleek user interface that is easy to use. This makes it a highly functional and robust experience for all who use it.
- It’s easy, flexible, and nearly entirely intuitive to use, from website building and course creation to payment processing
- It provides free website hosting and lets you build a fully functioning one. This is something that a few course management platforms can’t offer.
- It houses a plethora of excellent in-house tools from marketing down to user management – this minimizes the need to integrate with third-party apps
- Its customization capabilities are not just simple but also robust
- It takes zero percent of your profits, and you’d only need to pay service fees to either Stripe or PayPal
- It offers a social media-like feed that allows you and your family members to interact and communicate with each other
- It is known for its excellent customer service and rich information resource library.
- It prioritizes its user base community over all other features.
- It is more expensive than other course-building platforms. This is due to the fact that it uses a different business model and framework. The user doesn’t have to be burdened by it.
- It does not have a native tool for recognizing students. It also lacks assessment features, such as the inability of setting the length of each question or uploading question files.
- Its management feature lacks other essential and advanced tools like SMS marketing, custom tracking for affiliates, and inventory tracking
- Although the interface is flexible and intuitive, there are some functions that can be difficult to use.
Alternatives to Kajabi
It took me many years of research and skillful thinking to find the right course management platform for me when I started my journey into educational entrepreneurship. My marketing and course-building skills have grown beyond what I had when I was a beginner. It was therefore appropriate for me to switch to other services to meet my growing demand. Kajabi Creator
I am now able to call Kajabi my home, having acquired the skills, budget, and necessities that are almost expert-level. It has been a great resource for me to connect with colleagues who are already well-established and have shared their knowledge with the rest of the world. While Kajabi may seem to provide as many tools as possible to help elevate your opportunities, it shouldn’t be the only platform you must consider – some of its functions may not suit your current skillset or budget best, and I wouldn’t want you to have a hard time with it. Kajabi Creator
With years of experience, I am able to share some great alternatives to Kajabi. The following three course-building platforms are among those that I’ve personally used to make and sell my content before Kajabi. You might find the right service for you among these three. To help you make a decision, I recommend that you do additional research on any one of them.
Thinkific joins Kajabi among the leading online course management platforms making waves to this day. Thinkific is well-known for its innovative selection of tools that can be used to create courses and foster a community. Its beginner-friendly accessibility makes it easy for anyone to use.
It also has partly an advantage in its set of plans – Thinkific’s equivalent to the Kajabi Basic tier lets you create unlimited courses and students for only $74 per month, and its free plan is a great way for absolute newbies to start their journey in edupreneurship. Although Thinkific and Kajabi offer nearly identical features and can be used by both experts and beginners, there are certain aspects that may make one more appealing than the other.
Another popular service with sizable clout and reputation, Teachable shines best when it comes to the process of making enriching course content. You will find a wide range of features that make it a competitive and complete course management tool, such as native certification, drag and drop editing and additional options like one-on-one coaching.
Its payment gateway support is also diversified, allowing users to include Google Pay and Apple Pay options apart from credit/debit, e-wallet, and PayPal. While its dynamic course-building has helped get Teachable to where it is today, it does lack in other aspects, most notably its community-building capabilities. Teachable may be the right match for you if you aren’t bothered by any of these or prefer to concentrate more on course-building.
They’ve also generally admired its ability to fit as many features as it can in very budget-friendly pricing plans, with the most premium plan available at as low as $166/month – only a few dollars much cheaper than Kajabi’s $119/mo starter tier. Podia might be a better option if you are looking to grow your edupreneur following but have limited budget.
Kajabi: The Bottom Line
Kajabi is the one-stop-shop for course content management. Kajabi excels in almost all (if not all) of what you would expect: course-making (to a certain degree), sales, promoting, websites, customer support, heck even customer service!
While Kajabi’s offerings and platform help create an opportunity for dynamic usage, we can’t fully gloss over its limits. I’ve had some issues with its lack of other core and advanced tools, plus extra marketing and product management options.
It’s also difficult to understand the editing layout. When I explored the website editor for the first time, I assumed it used a drag-and-drop interface until I tried it out and further learned that the interface used is not what I’d expected. Perhaps it was my insatiable desire to use the editor, to the point that I forgot to read the instructions or my recurring practice of dragging and dropping into any editor.

FAQ Kajabi Creator
Are Kajabi-made websites good and stable for use?
Although I don’t have a lot of experience building websites, I can tell you that Kajabi-made sites are amazing. Not only will your website receive free hosting provided by the platform itself. It will also come with an SSL safety certificate, fast video hosting thanks to Wistia, and a generally adept user interface. Stability and loading are also flawless, so you can rest assured that you will be in great hands.
Is Kajabi open to third-party integration?
With Kajabi, you wouldn’t necessarily have to integrate with third-party platforms as most course-building and marketing tools are housed in one place. If you want to maximize your use, however, Kajabi currently has ten native integrations to third-party apps. This includes Zapier. It also has an API tool that lets you manually connect with other platforms – that is, if you know how to code well.
Does Kajabi offer a mobile app?
Yes! Kajabi offers a mobile app that is available in the Apple App Store as well as Google Play for Android. This app allows subscribers and members to view and read text messages, view photos, videos, answer quizzes, and communicate with each other from any location. You and your students will have access to your course materials from anywhere, but you won’t be able to manage them.
